Usability Testing

More than the visual appeal of a product it is important to make it usable. Design these days is not just restricted to its physical appeal rather it penetrates deep into the roots of interaction as well as the architecture and its utility. A usability test verifies that whatever we are doing is right or not. During Usability testing, users are asked to perform a series of tasks and the ease with which these tasks are performed provides both qualitative and quantitative information which is vital for the direction in which the product will shape up.

The usability test can be conducted at any location irrespective of any constraints and during the process while the users are performing the desired tasks, our facilitator observes and records user actions, opinions, expressions and observations. Usability is influenced by five main factors and assessing these through usability testing is part of the quality process:

  • Ease of learning
  • Efficiency
  • Memorability
  • Satisfaction
  • Error Prevention

By testing on real users performing realistic tasks you get feedback which is otherwise unobtainable. Test findings provide an insight that expert evaluation simply cannot imitate. The outputs of a usability test are converted into valuable, actionable recommendations by the Doodle Bunch team.
